Brad Adam is an anchor for the Northwest Sports Report, and serves as a co-anchor of Mariners Live.[1]
Brad Adam has been an anchor and reporter with Root Sports Northwest since June 2000. During the Seattle Mariners Season, Brad hosts the Mariners Live pre-game and post-game shows. During the rest of the year, he can also be seen on FSN's College Football Northwest and College Hoops Northwest.
Adam's career did not start in the Northwest; he has held similar positions across the country. He began his career in Grand Junction, Colorado with KJCT-TV in 1994, then moved to Charleston, South Carolina with WCIV-TV in 1995 and to Portland, Oregon with KATU-TV in 1997. During his time in South Carolina, Adam received the Associated Press Award in 1996 for best sports story, a piece about Dale Earnhardt at the Daytona 500.
Raised in Southern California, Adam received a scholarship to Cal Lutheran, where he played Division II basketball. After two years at Cal Lutheran, he then transferred to San Diego State University and graduated in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in telecommunications and film.
An avid golfer, Adam also enjoys snow skiing and sky diving. He lives in Seattle, Washington with his wife and three daughters.
Adam is known for frequent assignments on segments that give the appearance of feuds with the producers. A repeated situation is one where Adam and his camera crew are alone in a location, such as behind the center-field wall, where he begins his monologue with a variant of "Here I am, all alone in center field here at Safeco Field where the Mariners have lost again." He is also frequently placed in locations where he receives an increased degree of fan interference during his reporting. One particularly well-known incident occurred when he was called upon to talk about the fact that the Mariners had just been swept by the Chicago White Sox. The White Sox mascot, Southpaw, was nearby and playfully taunting Adam by sweeping his shoulders with a small broom. After this continued for a moment, Adam appeared to lose his cool and angrily informed the mascot, "I said you could do it once!"
